All About Flower Girls-Bluegrass Chic

All About Flower Girls!

My favorite person in a wedding next to the bride is the flower girl. Maybe it’s because I have a daughter of my own. Getting to see her walk down the aisle in a wedding is something every mother dreams of. To know that our daughter has made a mark on a young couples life enough that they want her to stand next to them during their vows is the sweetest thing. When Kacie asked my daughter Payton to be her flower girl, she was so excited. This can be a memorable moment for the Bride and the Flower Girl.

Kacie presented Payton with a little package of adorable gifts. A bracelet with her initials on a charm she could wear for the wedding. A robe with Flower Girl printed on the back. Then she gave her the book, Pinkalicious: Flower girl for her to read about the responsibilities of being a flower girl. We read the book so many times before the wedding. She knew exactly what she was supposed to do and what not to do.

There are so many things you can do for a flower girl. I really do believe that it depends on her age and personality. Flower girls are such a fun and important role for so many weddings and there are so many different options to incorporate for them! Here are a few of my favorite things:

Flower Girl Basket and Petals-For the girls with a lot of personality- this one is for you! This gives them responsibility (to add petals to the aisle) and allows for something just plain adorable right before you take your steps down the aisle.

Flowers in Basket-Lucky for us, many of the properties in Central Florida allow for petals to be thrown at the ceremony. However, some properties have restrictions. This is a great alternative for these flower girls!

Flower Girl Hair Floral-

This really depends on how much hair they have and if they like having things in their hair. There are options for this as well, a flower crown, hair pins, or a comb!

Flower girl wand-This option is something for the younger girls! It’s cute and fun for them to play with. And the wand does not hold quite the same amount of responsibility as the basket of petals does!

Mini Bouquet-For older flower girls we recommend a mini bouquet. They usually want to feel like they are included in the bridal party- and a small posey bouquet can do exactly that!

Floral Ring-A Floral Ring is a great alternative for flower girls. It’s cute, modern, and easy to hold! The ring is used for the young girls to the older girls! We even use them for bridesmaids.

Wagon-Adding flowers to a wagon is such a fun way to include the youngest ones! Couples have the siblings bring the wagon and the little one down the aisle.
